Actor Afran Nisho has officially signed on for Domm, the latest film by director Redoan Rony, which is scheduled to hit screens during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
Director Rony revealed that the story draws inspiration from real-life events. “Domm is about an ordinary man’s extraordinary rise — it captures the quiet strength of everyday people. I’ve been searching for a story like this for years. The character’s resilience is something I believe will move not only me but also the audience,” he said.
Nisho echoed that sentiment, describing the storyline as both rare and powerful. “As far as I know, nothing quite like Domm has been done in Bangladeshi cinema before. It’s a survival-driven story with a deeply motivational core. Personally, I’m drawn to narratives like this. But what truly drew me to Domm was the challenge of the role — it demands something different from me as an actor,” he explained.
Joining Nisho in the cast is acclaimed actor Chanchal Chowdhury, who also expressed his excitement about the project. “Redoan Rony returning to the director’s chair is great news. The script for Domm is phenomenal — I’ve never taken on a role like this before. It’s demanding in every sense, and I think it’ll catch the audience off guard in a good way,” he said.
According to the director, the script has been finalized, and the film is now in its pre-production phase. Domm is being jointly produced by SVF Alpha-i Entertainment Limited and the streaming platform Chorki.
