Scarlett Johansson has made box office history, emerging as the highest-grossing lead actor of all time, following the explosive global debut of Jurassic World: Rebirth, which brought in a staggering $316 million within its first six days.
According to data from The Numbers, this blockbuster opening has pushed Johansson’s cumulative career earnings to $14.8 billion—placing her ahead of her Marvel co-stars Samuel L. Jackson ($14.6 billion) and Robert Downey Jr. ($14.3 billion).
What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that Johansson reached this milestone with only 36 leading roles, compared to Jackson’s 71 and Downey’s 45. A significant portion of her box office success—around $10.5 billion—comes from her performances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with standout titles like Avengers: Endgame and Black Widow contributing heavily.
With this new record, Johansson becomes the first woman to top a list that has long been dominated by male MCU actors.
